Talisman Jewelry

Made with charms and elements that symbolize something of meaning (milagros, masks, skulls, dzi beads, stones, shells, Indian goddess charms)~ amulet jewelry pieces are hung in a special place, kept on an alter, or worn to protect or empower. Here are a few old & new designs.

I like making custom pieces of jewelry that fit the person; bright shiny pearl designs for me mum; bling for my buddy Gina; natural stones & lariats for me; delicate pieces; chunky Frieda-esque pieces; and sometimes talismans.

I like the origin of talisman, Greek from telesma or from the Greek word telein which means “to initiate into the mysteries.”  Made with charms and elements that symbolize something of meaning (milagros, masks, skulls, dzi beads, stones, shells, Indian goddess charms)~ amulet jewelry pieces are hung in a special place, kept on an alter, or worn to protect or empower.   Here are a few old & new designs.

One of my favorite designers of nature-inspired power pieces made from “sacred iron”  (bells, pods, knives…), is  Lorena Babcock Moore.   She is an inspiration. This copper pod is one of my favorite pieces, especially with these soft green fluorite pillows.  Lorena’s an amazing artist; painter, jeweler, blacksmith, taroist.

A great place to get milagro charms is Ashes to Beauty.

Past posts to this blog highlight my favorite designers of powerful  designs (Andrew Thornton); and power charged beads by Anne Choi;  fun, nature inspired charms and beads by (Green Girl studios); and Lisa Peters; Candace Wakumoto; and Dia de Los Muertos pieces by Gaea that I used in this piece.

And speaking of nature inspired charms & treasures: check out the Thursday Giveaway on Andrew’s Blog (from Beadaholique) and the easy ways you can enter to win~
